Wilma Diane Van Zwol (nee Kukkee) was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario (Canada) on July 23, 1945. She is the third oldest of fourteen children.
She attended Selkirk Collegiate and Vocational Institute. Diane graduated from St. Joseph's General Hospital, in Thunder Bay, in 1967, as a registered nurse. She has worked as a registered nurse, in many areas of nursing, in southern Ontario and in Thunder Bay.
In 1982, she obtained a Counselling Certificate from Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario and in 1988, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies, from McMaster University, in Hamilton, Ontario. She continued her education to graduate with an Honours degree, also in Religious Studies, in 1990.
In 1997, she completed a Master of Arts degree in Philosophy, at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario.
Diane writes poetry on a wide variety of topics.
She has had poetry published in a number of anthologies, The International Society of Poets, The National Library of Poetry, Sparrowgrass Poetry Forum, Inc. and the Poetry Institute of Canada.
Her works have also appeared in the magazine, 'Home Grown Niagara' and are being published on the www.poetry.com web site.
In 1995, Diane attended the International Society of Poet's Conference, in Washington, DC, where she was inducted as a 'Distinguished Member' of the International Society of Poets. While in Washington, she did a poetry reading and included a short piece of poetry in 'The World's Largest Poem For Peace' which has now been entitled, 'Love'.

A number of pieces of her poetry have been published on cassette tape, by the International Society of Poets and the National Library of Poetry. In 1996, she was elected into the International Society of Poet's Hall of Fame.
She has received a number of awards for her work including 'Editor's Choice' awards from the National Library of Poetry and the Poetry Institute of Canada.
In 1997, she began publishing poetry under the title of 'Love 2000 AD'. She was included in 'Who's Who in Canadian Grass Roots Poetry', a guide to Canadian poets, in the 1999-2000 edition.
More recently, Diane has obtained certification as a Web Site Designer and Developer, and is publishing web sites and poetry on the internet, in conjunction with artwork and photography or as custom poetry, under the title, 'LOVE 2001 AD'.
She also has a wide variety of other interests including photography, art, music, writing children's literature and cycling.
In the year 2006, Diane was invited to submit poetry to Noble House for publication. She was also honored to become a 'Poetry Ambassador for the United States of America'.
She has continued to submit poetry for publication to the International Society of Poets. Poetry has also been requested for publication by Noble House in the year 2007 and once again, she has been nominated as a 'Poetry Ambassador'.
Her focus is on publishing poetry in anthologies, on the internet, as well on nurturing and guiding other poets to do the same.
